EXPERIENCE GERMAN AUTOMOTIVE HISTORY

BMW World Munich

BMW Museum

Whoever orders a new car rarely fails to miss out on a visit to BMW World and spend a whole day learning about the history of the automobile. As one of the most visited company museums, BMW, with several exhibition sites, is of course an attraction for all other visitors: The exhibition shows the company, make and product history of BMW with a permanent exhibition and a temporary exhibition. The museum stretches across 5,000 square metres and in seven buildings presents the most important and precious automobiles, motorcycles and engines from the brand’s more than 100-year-old history.

The BMW plant

Experience the construction of a BMW live

Anyone who has been inside the heart of an automotive plant will likely never forget the dynamics and precision, the high tech and the sheer dimensions. With a tour of the main plant, visitors experience the production area from the pressing tool to assembly. As part of the worldwide network, the Munich site makes approximately 1,000 automobiles and more than 2,000 engines every day.

The tours are only available on weekdays and should be booked early: infowelt@bmw-welt.com.

BMW Group Classic

The original production site

Those who are particularly fond of cars which have an “H” on the licence plate have come to the right place at BMW Group Classic with its historical workshop. This was the site of the first production halls of the carmaker – today it is the home of the BMW Group archive’s substantial vintage car collection. Here you’ll find rare road and racing vehicles, concept cars and never-before shown prototypes, which are explained with plenty of passion within the scope of a tour. Tickets are available at BMW World.

Tours take place Saturdays at 1.00, 2.30 and 4.00 p.m.
