With its façade made of more than 2,700 inflated foil panels, the Allianz Arena in München-Fröttmaning, created by the famous Basle-based office Herzog & de Meuron, quickly rose to become one of Munich’s most thrilling landmarks. This is also true at night, when the coloured outdoor lighting illuminates the stadium in different colours, making the highlight of modern sports architecture visible from a great distance.
