From the first warm days of summer to late autumn, the beer garden is a beloved tradition for residents of Munich as well as its guests.
Genuinely robust, on hard wooden chairs and at rustic tables, the atmosphere is incomparably warm, cozy and friendly. Deeply rooted, Bavarian, authentic. And so, Japanese encounter Italians, Prussians meet with Bavarians, Americans with Russians, hoisting their liters of beer, often accompanied by traditional accordion or wind music.
Many prefer the larger beer gardens, gathering spots for people from around the world – one such, with seating for 7,000 guests, is located in the English Garden, right by the Chinese pagoda. Others would rather meet at one of those smaller, cozier beer gardens which have more of a Bavarian than international flavor, where the waitress serves up her own brand of no-nonsense wisdom for free along with the beer.
If you are not quite sure, simply check with the reception desk at Hotel Rothof. They know all of the best, most enjoyable, most memorable beer gardens!
